Crediting Error Finders

Hall of Corrections

One of the topics of this book (and the corresponding course at Brown) is the careful articulation of goals. Thus, when a reader or in-person student reports a technical error in the materials, I want to credit them. Sadly, I cannot afford to pay $2.56 per error as Knuth does. There are surely more errors in my book than sentences in his!

I regret that not every error reported prior to 2026 has received proper credit; I began to accumulate such notes only in the Spring 2026 semester. If you believe your name is missing from this document, email me and I will (happily!) add it.

  • 23 Jan 2026: Brian Rago pointed out that I had misstated the avalanche property in the PBT chapter, disregarding its statistical component.
  • 25 Feb 2026: David Eskilson corrected the definition of transitive closure in Reachability.
